IGD Live Leading Edge Conference

the Goal

The aim of the project was to live broadcast to all the IGD members who were unable to attend the event sessions at the QE2 conference center. The client decided to film two specific sessions one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The Solution

We filmed the event with three cameras and with live vision mixing. The slides were incorporated into the live stream so that the remote audience could follow the presentations easily.

The streaming was done using GoTo Webinar which allowed IDG to set up a branded invitation page and capture all the views, email addresses and engagement metrics.

Sometimes internet speed and bandwidth can be unreliable at venues with hundreds of delegates. Our site recce and tests indicated some potential issues and as a result we decided to implement our own dedicated Wi-Fi to ensure a resilient stream.

Location: QE2 Conference Centre
Crew: Three cameras + Vision Mixer

The Result

Through live streaming of these sessions they were able to engage with a far larger audience, offering more value to their members. They were also able to capture detailed viewing behavior and monitor the engagement of their online audience. This provided valuable insights, and which helped to assess content for future events when considering speakers.

Do you have a live streaming project?

We’d love to hear about it.
